January 18, 2005. The Apple Store in the Shinsaibashi district of Osaka played host to the DESIGN MATTERS meeting.

Peer-To-Peer Networks, Apple iTunes and the Future of Online File Sharing
Attorney, Jiri Mestecky, gave an engaging talk on the liability for downloading and sharing music and video files over Peer-To-Peer (“P2P”) networks, now the hottest topic in Cyberspace. In his presentation, Jiri discussed how file sharing came to be such a contentious and important issue, covering such topics as the evolution and design of P2P networks, how the entertainment industry and government have responded through litigation and other means, and what the future of file sharing may hold in light of Apple iTunes and similar services. Lot's of great questions at the end of the talk.
